Why we started
Adelaide has plenty of good builders. It has fewer good listeners.
Adelaide is very well served by builders who can put up a good house quickly, from a plan that already exists. It is much less well served by builders who will sit with you for as long as it takes to work out what your house should be, and then hold a fixed price while they build it.
Sakar Custom Homes was founded to be the second kind. We take on a deliberately small number of homes each year so that every one of them gets the attention a one-off deserves: the site studied properly, the orientation worked, the details drawn rather than assumed, and the same person accountable from the first conversation to the last defect.
We are a new business. We are not a new trade. Founder Jigar Patel has more than 15 years in construction, across residential and commercial projects, and started Sakar to build the way they always believed it should be done.
How we work
Small on purpose.
A custom home is not a product; it is a two-year relationship with a construction project inside it. That only works if the builder is small enough to care and organised enough to deliver.
We cap our volume
We build a limited number of homes at a time, so that a director is across every site, every week.
We keep our trades
The same carpenters, tilers, cabinetmakers and bricklayers, project after project. Consistency of finish comes from consistency of people.
We price properly, once
We would rather spend three extra weeks getting the specification right than issue a low number and recover it through variations.
We write things down
Every selection, variation and decision goes into your client portal the day it is made, so there is never a version of events.
