Concrete and timber facade of a modern addition

Extensions & Renovations

More home,without moving.

A second storey, a rear addition, or a whole-home reset, designed and built so that in five years nobody can tell where the old house stopped.

The hardest kind of building

A good addition is not the new part and the old part sitting next to each other. It is one house.

Extensions are harder than new builds, and most of the difference is invisible. You are working with footings someone else poured, walls that are not quite square, a roof line that has to be resolved, and a family living twenty metres away.

That is precisely why an extension deserves a custom builder.

What we do

Four kinds of “more room”.

01

Second-storey additions

Adding a level without losing the ground floor you like. We assess the existing footings and structure first. Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes the answer is a rear addition instead, and you deserve to know which before you spend money on drawings.

02

Rear and side extensions

The most common Adelaide project: opening the back of a villa or bungalow into a kitchen, living and dining space that connects properly to the garden.

03

Whole-home renovation

Keeping the facade and the character rooms, and rebuilding everything behind them.

04

Heritage and character homes

Villas, bungalows and Tudors across the eastern and inner-southern suburbs. Restoring what should be kept, and being confident about what should be new.

The part nobody explains

What it is actually like to live through a renovation.

Sometimes you can stay. Sometimes you should not. We will give you an honest answer at the design stage rather than an optimistic one at contract signing.

  • If you stay

We stage the work so a working kitchen, a bathroom and a sleeping zone are always available, seal the work area properly for dust, agree fixed working hours, and leave the site secure and clean every single day.

  • If you move out

We compress the program because we can work without restriction, which usually recovers a meaningful part of the rent.

  • Either way

You get the same weekly photographs, the same live program, and the same person to call.

Questions, answered

Before you draw anything.

It depends on the footings, the wall structure and the soil. We assess it properly before you commit to a design, and we will tell you if the answer is no.

Where matching is the right answer, we source and match brickwork, mouldings and roof profiles carefully. Where it is not, we design a clear, confident junction between old and new. Half-matching is the only outcome that always looks wrong.

Almost always, yes. And more so in a Historic or Character Area. We prepare and lodge everything through PlanSA and manage the assessment.

A rear extension is typically six to nine months on site; a second storey nine to twelve. Design and approvals add three to six months before that.
